Rooted in community
Why this market exists
Where Black-owned farms and makers come to market.
Our mission
The Black Farmer's Market gives Black growers, makers, and food entrepreneurs a home online. Every stall is owned and operated by someone in our community. Every purchase keeps dollars circulating where they belong and puts fresh, handmade, honest products in your hands.
Why it matters
Black farmers once worked nearly a million farms in this country. Today it's a fraction of that. The growers and makers still standing do the work of three people: farming, cooking, and selling — usually from a folding table on a Saturday morning.
A market stall only pays when the weather cooperates and the crowd shows up. An online stall works all week. That's the whole idea here: keep the Saturday morning feeling, add a storefront that never closes.
We handle the storefront, the payments, and the receipts. Vendors keep their brand, their customers, and their money.
A note from our founder
“I grew up carrying crates for my grandmother. She could grow anything, but she never had a way to reach folks past her table. This market is the thing I wish she'd had.”
